First substantial evidence that disposable vapes are useful for smoking cessation

"Do vapes help smokers quit or glorify a potentially unhealthy habit?" Public health experts are divided on the question, but a new study shows for the first time that for some people the devices may be more powerful than they are more damage.

The article, published in the journal Addictive Behavior, examines how smoking cessation patterns have changed in the United States since the introduction of e-cigarettes in 2010, which are devices that vaporize liquid nicotine rather than burn tobacco and make tar.

The human body inhales the water vapor produced by e-liquid (e-liquid), which generally contains a small amount of nicotine (cigarettes are mainly addictive to nicotine). Regarding the components of e-liquid, please check: Is e-liquid harmful to the body?

The amount of nicotine contained in e-juice can be controlled. Normal smokers do not need to obtain nicotine from cigarettes after they get a sufficient dose of nicotine. This avoids the absorption of various harmful substances after the cigarette burns! More than 4,000 harmful substances can be produced when cigarettes are burned. Among them, tar and nitrosamines are highly carcinogenic

But how do you know how much nicotine to get is an adequate dose of nicotine?

The nicotine content in e-liquid is generally expressed in mg/ml, such as 3mg/ml: it means that each milliliter of e-liquid contains 3mg of nicotine. If the nicotine (another name for nicotine) content of a cigarette is 1mg, then you need to smoke 0.33ml. Only e-liquid can obtain the nicotine content of a cigarette. The nicotine dose comparison between e-cigarettes and cigarettes is as follows:

When you get enough nicotine from e-cigarettes, the physical addiction is lifted. People who want to quit smoking generally don't want to smoke cigarettes anymore.

In addition to physical addiction, there is also a psychological addiction (or a habit) which is not too much of a problem. Try to avoid some smoking places and try not to buy cigarettes. Mainly by changing your habits to avoid!

You can completely quit smoking, then some people will say that smoking is quitting and smoking electronic cigarettes again. It doesn't matter, the nicotine content in e-cigarettes can be controlled, and the nicotine dose can be gradually reduced. From 6mg, to 3mg to 0mg until the body does not need nicotine. This time can be controlled within 2 to 3 months to complete.

Most people who quit smoking today do both at the same time. We call it "nicotine replacement therapy" using electronic cigarettes to obtain nicotine while reducing the intake of nicotine doses. Generally, the body does not need nicotine for about two to three months. E-cigarettes are thrown away with cigarettes or passed on to smokers in need.

Medical scientists report that a single puff of smoke contains 4 billion particles of dust and hundreds of compounds. These include dozens of poisons and carcinogens. Therefore, smoking in public places and indoors is extremely harmful. If one person in the family smokes, then all the men, women and children in the family will suffer and become "passive smokers"

Researchers at Columbia University and Rutgers University analyzed annual household survey data over two years and analyzed two groups of people: current smokers and former smokers, who in 2010 Quit e-cigarettes before or before.

Among the roughly 15,500 adults the researchers studied, those who said they used e-cigarettes daily were more likely to quit regular cigarettes than those who said they had never tried e-cigarettes. In fact, more than half of daily e-cigarette users have quit smoking over the past five years, compared with only 28% of those who have never tried.

In other words, the single strongest predictor of someone in the survey quitting smoking was daily vape use.
